Australian arrested for tampering with CCTV cameras in Nairobi: DCI
An Australian has been arrested for allegedly covering and switching off CCTV cameras at an apartment in Nairobi.
According to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), they received complaints about Benjamin Gsull from the public and launched investigations.
“Upon searching his house (he stays in the same apartment) rounds of ammunitions & other substances believed to be bhang were found,” DCI said on Friday.
The suspect is to be charged with being in possession of ammunition and an unlicensed firearm without a certificate among other offences.
Earlier on Friday, a man was arrested after a picture of him carrying a gun while collecting garbage began doing rounds on social media.
The man was arrested in Pipeline estate, Nairobi after Kenyans on Twitter reported him to the DCI.
In Kenya, carrying an unlicensed firearm attracts a jail term of not less than 7 years.
