

Police Constable David Murai who was reported to have committed suicide at his house in Nyahururu, was murdered, an autopsy has revealed.

According to pathologists led by Dr. Boniface Muringu from Nyahururu County and Referral Hospital, the traffic police officer was poisoned and strangled twice.
The autopsy report also indicated that the killer(s) of the 35-year-old officer stepped on his chest.
It was also established that from the nature of the injuries, he could have been killed elsewhere.
His body was found dangling from a bed at Garden Estate, Nyahururu on October 23.

Initial reports indicated that the officer committed suicide by hanging himself.
When police officers visited the scene, they found the body beside a bed with a blue lanyard tightly tied on his neck.
Following the incident, a woman identified as Selina Wambui Wangui was arrested.
She is being held at the Nyahururu Police station.
Forensic CID officers are still investigating the poison that was used.
The officer is set to be buried at his farm in Gathanje village in Ol-Joro Orok Constituency on Thursday, October 29.
