Avoid politicians who dish out money, MP warns

Embu County Women Representative Rose Mitaru has advised residents against accepting monetary gifts from politicians eyeing electoral seats in the forthcoming elections.

Speaking at Embu Town on Wednesday, Ms Mitaru claimed that politicians buying voters would not be honest while in office, but would instead be keen to replace the money they lost during campaigns.

“These politicians keep dishing out money to simple voters, yet the amount of salaries they earn does not match what they run round giving,” said the women rep.

The MP urged that the source of the money being ‘thrown away’ be revealed, claiming that most of it is earned through dubious means.

Mitaru noted that she would be defending her position in 2017 under a Jubilee Party ticket.
