Avoid sex workers , MP tells tea farmers

Stay away from sex workers when you receive you tea bonus, Othaya MP has told tea farmers.

Speaking in her constituency, Othaya legislator Mary Wambui said that many farmers have the tendency of marrying more wives abandoning their families soon after the money is paid out.

The 2015 tea bonus is a whopping sh28.7 billion, and the cash will be released next month.

Advising her constituents to spend their cash wisely, Wambui told male farmers to abstain from engaging in such activities.

She added that relationships with such women are futile because they disappear after the men run out of money.

Already, reports are emerging that twilight girls are preparing to leave for tea growing zones in central region where Kenya Tea Development Authority (KTDA) will pour billions in tea bonuses.

Wambui said the money should be used to cater for families’ basic needs and paying school fees among other costs.

She further warned Othaya residents that at such times many families clash because of how they use and distribute the huge amounts of money dished out by KTDA.

The legislator advised farmers not to withdraw the whole amount but withdraw little cash in accordance to the domestic demands.
