Babies’ fingers inked after multiple parents use them to jump queues

The little fingers of babies whose mothers in Homa Bay town turned up to vote Tuesday morning were inked to prevent women from using the babies in queue jumping.

The decision, which was used as a precaution to prevent line jumping, was reached by Homa Bay town presiding officer.

The 1, 062 polling stations in Homa Bay County were opened on time, with voters queuing as early as 3 am.

Citizen Television’s Laura Achieng reports that as at 1 pm Tuesday, the voting exercise was going on peacefully.

Leaders from Homa Bay County including Gladys Wanga, who is the incumbent Woman Rep, cast her vote at Alara Korayo Primary School.
