Mr. Owino, whose real name is Paul Ongili, is said to have drawn his gun and allegedly shot DJ Evolve, who was reportedly unarmed.

The incident is said to have occurred at the popular B Club in Kilimani estate, Nairobi.

Police say the lawmaker argued with the DJ, whose real name is Felix Orinda, before he drew his gun and shot him on the neck.

Questions abound as to why the MP was allowed into the club with a firearm.

Babu Owino was arrested moments after the incident and taken to Kilimani Police Station.

Police officers proceeded to search B Club for the firearm and spent cartridge.

The MP later released a statement claiming that he was provoked.

His lawyer also confirmed that police have since recovered the gun that was used in the shooting.
