Babu Owino pledges to make Embakasi East '24-hour economy'

Embakasi East Member of Parliament Babu Owino on Sunday vowed to make the constituency a twenty-four-hour economy, further declaring himself the best Kenyan legislator.

Mr. Owino, in a statement to newsrooms, pledged to work with the area residents as well as security agencies to make Embakasi East a constituency “where people can safely transact business and day to day activities without fear of petty crime.”

The MP made the declaration while kicking off the installation of high mast security lights at Vumilia slums in upper savanna ward on Sunday.

“This is the first of four such lights which will be installed in different wards with a view to curbing insecurity in the area,” read the statement.

“The lights provide illumination to a diameter of up to 500 meters meaning criminals and thugs will have nowhere to hide while allowing ordinary wananchi the opportunity to peacefully go about their lives.”
