Day-old baby found dumped in coffee plantation

A newborn baby has been found inside a coffee plantation in Kiangoro, Kirinyaga County.

Ms. Lydia Wambura Kiura, 60, discovered the abandoned infant on Friday morning.

She said she heard people talking about the baby and since no one was doing anything about it, she decided to rescue it by herself.

The infant was rushed to Kiamutugu Health Center before being taken to the Kirinyaga Children’s Department.

Medical reports indicate that the child is one day old.
