Balambala hospital conducts first cesarean delivery

Balambala Sub-County Hospital has successfully conducted its first cesarean section delivery after the hospital theatre was modernized and officially opened in May this year.

Speaking on Monday, Garissa Governor Nathif Jama said that the achievement indicates progress in the county government’s effort to improve health sector.

He stated: “The county has for long lacked trained birth attendants and lack of or poorly equipped health facilities in the last 50 years of independence.

“We thank God we have achieved what this region failed to get in 50 years in just three years in government; that is a true spirit of devolution,” he said.

Garissa county CEC Health Mrs. Hubbie  also further lauded the progress made on Monday at 3am saying the presence of top medical practitioners recruited by the county government have made tremendous  a historical achievement.

The latest developments in Garissa are aimed at improving the health sector in the county after the sector was developed by the national government.
