Barchok in near exchange of blows with Langat at night fundraiser

Bomet Governor Hillary Barchok and county Senator Christopher Langat almost exchanged blows at a funds drive on Friday evening at Kipreres market.

Bomet East MP Beatrice Kones had a rough time when she tried to intervene.

A bitter confrontation had ensued when Senator Langat accused the Governor of misappropriation of county funds and corruption.

He further compared Barchok to his predecessor the late Joyce Laboso saying he had failed to bring together all the county leaders.

Governor Barchok who was seated as the Senator hurled the accusations, suddenly stood up and started heading towards Langat.

He grabbed the microphone from Langat, a move that saw MPs Kones and Joyce Korir plead with the two to stop the ugly confrontation in public.

Governor Barchok was heard telling off the Senator to stop immature politics and brace for a political contest come 2022.

The funds drive ended abruptly after Governor Barchok gave out his donation and left the function.

The event had been organized to help local traders in Kipreres who had lost their property in an inferno.
