Baringo aspirants raise security concerns ahead of Jubilee nominations

Political aspirants in Baringo County are raising concern over insecurity and the impact it will have on next week’s Jubilee Party primaries and the August 8 General Election.

The aspirants are now warning if the insecurity is not contained, it might adversely affect the turnout of voters during nominations and the main election.

This comes a month after two politicians were killed in Marigat raising tensions with two suspects linked to the murder allegedly being linked to Tiaty MP, Asman Kamama, amid calls for his resignation.

The pressure has forced Kamama to move from Jubilee to its affiliate Maendeleo Chap Chap to defend his seat, even as campaigns are being hampered by simmering tensions despite security operations.
