Baringo Governor Kiptis claims cartels importing illicit brew from Uganda

Baringo Governor Stanley Kiptis has called for the arrest of people he terms as cartels importing illicit brew into the country from Uganda.

According to Kiptis, the illegal liquor packaged in polythene papers is being sold in local markets within Baringo County.

Speaking in Kabarnet town on Saturday, the governor said the illicit liquor has affected the youth in the region especially those on holiday in Baringo South and Kipsaraman, Baringo North.

Kiptis urged security teams in the region to arrest and prosecute all those found to be involved in the illegal business.

The county boss further called for reviewing of all licenses especially in Kabarnet town.

He wondered why more than 200 bars were licensed to sell beer.
