Baringo MCAs accuse DP Ruto of dictatorship

A section of Members of Country Assembly (MCAs) from Baringo County are accusing Deputy President, William Ruto, for allegedly dictating on county’s leadership ahead of the August 8 elections.

Speaking during a press briefing at the Baringo County Assembly hall, Sacho MCA Zacharia Kipkuto, said the recent attack on Senators Gideon Moi (Baringo) and John Lunyangapuo (West Pokot) – both KANU members, for not supporting the Jubilee Party was in bad faith.

The MCA further accused the Deputy President of launching an offensive against elected leaders from the region who do not subscribe to the ideologies of the ruling party.

Another MCA, Vincent Kiror, said that it was wrong for the DP to try and impose leaders on the people of Baringo and that he should let them exercise their democratic rights through the ballot.

The Baringo MCA’s have already endorsed Moi as the county spokesperson describing him as a focused leader who will unite the communities living in the area.

Baringo County Assembly Leader of Majority, Elijah Toroitich, called on DP Ruto to show respect to Mr Moi saying he was duly elected by people of Baringo.
