Baringo to spend in Ksh 150M to rehabilitate stadium
Baringo County says it will set aside Ksh 150 million to rehabilitate Kabarnet Stadium with an aim of boosting sporting activities in the county.
According to County Executive in charge of Sports Youth and Gender, Enock Kiptaiwa, sporting activities have reported a low uptake and there is a need to promote the same by improving the sporting facilities.
In the last financial year, Ksh 37 million was set aside to erect a perimeter wall around the stadium and the allocation for the coming financial year has been capped at Ksh 25 million which will go to football and volleyball pitches.
Kiptaiwa added that sporting facilities have been scarce and the youth have not been engaging in sports to tap into different talents.
