Renowned political analyst and publisher, Barrack Muluka has been appointed Secretary General of the Amani National Congress (ANC) Party whose leader is NASA co-principal Musalia Mudavadi.

Muluka’s appointment was made public on Saturday, October 14, following a meeting of ANC’s National Executive Committee (NEC) at the party headquarters in Nairobi.

In a statement, Musalia Mudavadi confirmed that Muluka’s appointment takes effect immediately, adding that the party had made the necessary communication to the Registrar of political Parties and the electoral commission.

“He [Barrack Muluka] brings to the party a wealth of leadership and organizational management capability. His contribution is expected to be a boon, not just to ANC but also to the National Super Alliance (NASA) and to the country, especially at this time when Kenya is going through unprecedented political turmoil,” said Mudavadi.

Barrack Muluka takes over from Geodfrey Osotsi, who was appointed to the National Assembly by the ANC Party.

Last week, Mr Osotsi was on the spot after a letter was circulated on social media platforms  alleging that  he had resigned as ANC Secretary-General due to “incessant infighting and lack of common party strategy political strategy.

However, addressing the press at Parliament on Wednesday, October 11, Osotsi called on the National Super Alliance (NASA) supporters to ignore what he termed as “propaganda to confuse Kenyans at this crunch political times.”

“We have seen this many times when our opponents try to malign our names through propaganda just to see NASA has collapsed. I am firmly in NASA,” said Osotsi.
