Be professional, Boda boda operators told

Boda boda operators in Embu County have been advised to carry out their trade in a professional manner as this would help their relationship with the community.

Embu Boda Boda  Association Secretary, Cyrus Njiru, said that vehicle operators have frequently tarnished the name of motorbike operators so as to expand their own trade operations.

The residents have also associated the motorbike operators with thugs, despite the trade providing a huge forum for youth employment.

The Association Chair, Paul Maina, assured Embu residents that boda boda operators are responsible.

“Boda boda  operators are also parents with children who need to be paid for fees. They are not criminals. We should not vilify them”

Njiru called on the government and businessmen to ensure that imported motorbikes are suitable for the country’s weather conditions. He said motorbike operators are forced to dig deep into their pockets to customize their motorcycles for rainy weather.
