Bhang haul intercepted at Chumbi, Machakos

Police in Machakos County have this morning netted six sacks of bhang valued at 600,000 shillings at Chumbi along the busy Mombasa Nairobi highway.

This was after police officers became suspicious after the driver of a saloon car ignored police orders to stop at a roadblock along the highway, forcing them to pursue it.

According to Machakos Deputy County Commissioner George Onyango, the officers eventually shot the car’s tyres to deflate them forcing the driver to stop the vehicle.

The occupants however escaped, leaving the six sacks of bhang behind.

The car has since been towed to Kyumbi Police Station while police have launched a manhunt for the suspected drug traffickers.
