Bhang peddler arrested in Matuu

A 62-year-old man was on Friday, September 23 nabbed by Matuu police at the bus terminus with 20 rolls of bhang.

Yatta OCPD, Edward Changach, said the suspect, identified as Pius Wambua Mutiso, was found in possession of the illegal substance estimated to have a street value of Ksh 12,000.

The police boss also noted that the suspect had also been arrested for a similar offence in May this year.

He was charged in court but pleaded not guilty and was released on a fine.

Mutiso is now being held at Matuu Police Station and will be arraigned next week, said the OCPD.
