Bhang worth Ksh.1.8M seized in Migori
Police in Migori County seized bhang worth Ksh.1.8 million at Masaba area on Monday evening.
Migori county police boss Joseph Nthenge said a vehicle ferrying the narcotics was involved in an accident on the Migori-Kehancha highway.
The suspects however fled from the scene where police found bhang weighing 180kg stashed in seven sacks.
The vehicle they were in, a Toyota with registration number KCR 228L, was being trailed by police following a tip off.
When they realised they were being trailed, the suspects sped off in panic but got involved in an accident.
The wreckage has been towed to Migori Police Station as officers continue to search for the suspects.
Nthenge said they will not relent in the fight against sale of narcotics in the county and urged local residents to continue support police.
In July this year, police in Migori County nabbed 400 kilograms of bhang valued at Ksh.4 million.
Police officers had trailed the vehicle for several hours before the two occupants deserted it and fled.
