Bhang worth Ksh 3 million destroyed in Meru

Security officers in Meru South on Thursday set fire on raw bhang of an estimated Ksh 3 million street value confiscated during a raid in Mt Kenya forest.

Speaking to the press, Meru South Deputy County Commissioner said that during the raid they destroyed bhang in a 6-hectare piece of land where it had been planted.

“We are happy that we have found shambas of bhang in Mt Kenya and because of the efforts of our officers, we have found two shambas of bhang. We burnt the product and what we carried is just for exhibit purposes and we promise to finish those shambas. What we have found at the moment is worth more than Ksh 3 million,” said the Deputy County Commissioner.

He said that operations to address the challenge of illicit drug abuse.
