Bloody affair at funeral after man stabs uncle to death

Police in Uriri Sub-County in Migori have launched a manhunt for a 27-year-old man who is reported to have stabbed his uncle to death on Wednesday evening  in Central Kanyamkago location.

Speaking to Citizen Digital, Central Kanyamkago chief George Okoth said the suspect identified as Wicklife Okoth had an argument with the deceased during his grandmother’s funeral.

According to Okoth, the deceased, 55-year-old John Osiro, was trying to restrain the reportedly drunk suspect from causing commotion at the funeral when the suspect stabbed him in the chest.

The late John Osiro died on his way to Migori Level Four Hospital for treatment.

Uriri Sub-County AP commandant Mr.Michael Ojwang said they are still pursuing the suspect who is still at large.

Ojwang also appealed to local residents to help police with information which can lead to the suspect’s arrest.
