Blow to Jubilee camp as Tiren declares support for Gideon Moi
Moiben MP Silas Tiren has publicly endorsed Baringo Senator Gideon Moi for the 2022 presidential bid.
Tiren, who is deemed a ‘lukewarm’ Jubilee member, has been a fierce critic of DP William Ruto and the Jubilee Government.
Speaking during a peace rally in Tiaty on Tuesday, the Moiben lawmaker accused Dr. Ruto of being on the negative side of leadership.
According to him, the DP has allegedly been mentioned in several corruption allegations in the country.
Backing his statement was Tiaty MP William Kamket who said the only person who will succeed President Uhuru after his term expires will be Senator Moi.
“As a community we will back him up,” Kamket said.
On the contrary, Baringo North MP William Cheptumo (Jubilee) noted that Dr. Ruto is in a better position to take over the presidency seat in 2022.
He refuted claims by his colleagues that the Kalenjin community will support another leader from the region.
