Board, parents demand reinstatement of school principal

The board of management and parents of boys’ secondary school in Bureti, Kericho County have demanded that the former school principal be reinstated with immediate effect.

Former Tengecha Boys High School principal Anthony Too was transferred to another school, angering the parents and board who say he has been running the school well.

Speaking on Monday at the school, Board Chairman Joshua Korir said since the principal was posted to the school he has managed to stabilise it and posted good results in national exams.

Korir added that there was no need to transfer him, terming it a punishment.

The board chair further called for investigations into the recent spate of unrest in secondary schools and unexplained school fires in the country.

Mr Korir noted that the principal did not play a role in the protest as he was away in Mombasa for the school heads meeting, adding that they would fight any attempts to bring the new principal to the school.
