Bobby Williamson New Harambee Stars Coach

The Gor Mahia Coach was picked today by the Football Kenya Federation (FKF), two days after the entire Harambee Stars team was disbanded

The 51-year-old Scottish will be assisted by former Harambee Stars defender Musa Otieno while Simeon Mulama will be the Team Manager.

“We needed a coach who understands our game and Bobby Williamson is that kind of a coach. Williamson has been around for long having been at the helm of Gor Mahia and we hope with our support, he will be able to bring the required results,” said FKF boss Sam Nyamweya.

Williamson will start his role immediately after the CECAFA Kagame Cup which kicks off on Friday in Kigali, Rwanda.

The Scottish was once Uganda's national football team coach

He takes up from the sacked Adel Amrouche who was fired alongside Harambee Stars players

Williamson helped Uganda win three East and Central Africa (CECAFA) Senior Challenge Cup titles in 2009, 2011 and 2012 and enabled Uganda to become the most successful nation in the history of the competition.

The signing of Williamson comes after the stars failed to advance in their group stages of the AFCON qualifiers 2015

Stars were bundled out after a 0-0 draw with Lesotho which had an advantage after beating Stars 1-0 in their previous match.
