Bobi Wine blasts Museveni over ghetto stunt after son’s Ksh.2700 gift
Bobi Wine has lashed out again at President Yoweri Museveni over a recent campaign targeting the youth.
Over the weekend, the President’s son Elijah Nsubuga, referred to as ‘Ghetto Commander’ contributed Ksh.2,700 to his father for ‘expenses’ to dispel claims that youth have no money.
“Nsubuga told me his gesture was also to challenge those who think ghetto people have no money. To the likes of Ghetto Commander and the youths out there, the government is ready to support you to make more money,” the President said.
The President then opened an office for youth living and working in the areas of Kibuye and Katwe.
He said the office will be a registration point for SACCOs and make it easy to support the youth, urging them to form groups that share the same interests.
However, Bobi Wine termed the move as ‘folly of dictatorship’
“34 years, he impoverished, marginalised & ignored the ghetto. Tired of indignity, the ghetto rose up to speak- led by the Ghetto President. He dismissed us.We persisted. Very scared & desperate, he now returns as ‘Man of Ghetto.’ The sheer lack of shame,” Bobi Wine said.
Some Ugandans online expressed also their disapproval accusing the President of dishonesty and treachery.
“You’ll pull all stunts to appeal to the ghetto youths after abandoning them and arresting them for a long time, but one thing am sure of is they’ll eat that ka-money and vote for a fellow ghetto yut for he speaks their language and understands their hustle. So ‘memba daat!,” one Steve Kizire said.
“If only you could stand up and speak up about whatever is happening at the Ivory tower , Makerere University…your soldiers go there at night and attack students who are just seated in their rooms including the ones with disabilities….people are now hospitalised due to that,” Allan Rollins said.
“Ugandans want a clear development strategy for the youth and poor not campaign stunts to counter Bobi Wine,” Daniel Kawuma added.
“But Shwenkuru,The military is brutalising us in Makerere.Kindly save us ur bazukuru from the beatings,” Besigye Barigye said.
“Mean while, as you yellow boys are gifting each other, the UPDF, continues to carryout obnoxious acts against the students of MUK, heinous crimes against women are the order of the day and well… people have resigned themselves to abject poverty, all under your nose,” Nasser Kaaya added.
