Bobi Wine rubbishes claim that he is ‘planning to kidnap himself’
Uganda’s main presidential challenger Robert Kyangulani alias Bobi Wine has dismissed claims that he is ‘planning to kidnap himself’ after elections.
Speaking during an interview with Citizen Radio on Wednesday, Wine instead pointed fingers at the police saying they could be the ones planning the kidnap.
“This is my home, I am not going anywhere, if they want to come for me, let them come,” he retorted.
So, the private security company that has been guarding my home for the last 12 years has been ordered to withdraw security at my house. Their supervisors showed up unannounced at midnight, disarmed my guard and said they had instructions to immediately withdraw my security.

Uganda’s Police Spokesman Fred Enanga claimed that Bobi Wine was planning to kidnap himself to gain sympathy especially from international community.
According to Enanga, Wine will possibly hide at an embassy on Thursday after casting his vote.
“He will thereafter allege through his NUP networks and bloggers, that he has been kidnapped by state operatives,” Mr Enanga said as quoted by the Daily Monitor.
Wine however rubbished the claims saying he was forced to take his children out of the country because he found out that there was a plot to kidnap them.
Wine who has had several altercations with security forces said he feared for the life of his children and had to ask friends living abroad to host them.
”My kids are underage, and initially I had rejected the advice of taking them away from home but after what happened on several occasions, I had no option but to exile my kids,” he said.
The Kyadondo East MP said he and his wife will remain in Uganda, at least until the end of the electioneering period.
Wine blames the government system led by President Yoweri Museveni for trying to muzzle freedom of speech and democracy in Uganda.
He has emerged as the main presidential challenger in Thursday’s election that has attracted nine more candidates.
