Boda boda operators decry graft in Kisii County

Over 400 boda boda operators barricaded the busy Nyamarambe- Riosiri road at South Mugirango in Kisii Countyon Monday morning protesting the alleged misappropriation of Sh1.5 million project funds.

The motorcyclists rejected the sheds constructed by the Gucha Sub county Ward Administrator, Shadrack Otachi, saying they were sub-standard and lacked sanitation facilities.

The boda boda operators told Citizen Digital that efforts to engage Kisii Governor James Ongwae to intervene in the matter had not borne fruit.

The motorcycle taxi operators are now threatening to withhold their taxes from the county government unless their issue is addressed.

Efforts to reach the ward administrator were unsuccessful by the time this article was published.
