Boda boda operators torch matatu

Angry boda boda operators Friday morning torched a passenger service vehicle (PSV) at Matagaro area along the Rongo – Kisii Highway after the vehicle allegedly hit one of their colleagues.

Speaking to Radio Ramogi, Rongo AP commander, David Ngetich, said the police rushed to scene only to find the 14-seater vehicle that was ferrying passengers from Kisii on fire but no casualties were reported.

Ngetich said preliminary investigation established that the driver of the vehicle escaped forcing the irate boda boda operators to eject the passengers from the vehicle before setting it ablaze.

He said police managed to recover the motorcycle involved in the accident though its operator and his passenger are yet to be traced.
