Bodies of missing mother, daughter discovered in River Kerio
The bodies of a 26-year-old woman and her daughter have been recovered from River Kerio, Sagasak.
The two had been reported missing since Monday.
Area assistant chief Leah Kipkuna said she received a call from the deceased’s husband Griffins Koinange alerting her about the incident.
“I bade my wife goodbye and went to school to teach; when I returned in the evening I found my last born daughter crying. She told me that her mother had drowned,” he said.
The deceased had allegedly gone to the river with her 7-year-old daughter to have a bath.
It is alleged that the daughter started to drown and when the mother jumped in to save her, she was also swept away.
The bodies have been moved to Baringo County Referral Hospital mortuary.
