Bodies of three men who went missing in Kitengela recovered

It is a mysterious disappearance that has captured the attention of the nation.

A period of agony for family members searching for their relatives, four men last seen in Kitengela nine days ago.

The tense season may soon be drawing to a close with the discovery of three bodies that closely resemble Elijah Obuong, Benjamin Imbai and Jack Anyango in Muranga and Kiambu counties.

The quartet who were last seen in Kitengela on April 19 disappeared into thin air but details are emerging on their possible movements thereafter.

On Thursday, body said to be that of Jack Anyango,with missing upper limbs, was found in the river Mathioya and taken to the Muranga County morgue.

The body was discovered by sand harvesters going about their daily duties and the police were called to the scene by the area chief.

A week ago, a body said to be that of Elijah Obuong was found in river Mukungai which is just a few metres away from river Mathioya,and taken to the same morgue.

Family members visited the morgue but refused to speak to the media.

Further afield in the adjacent Kiambu county, the body believed to be that of Benjamin Imbai was found in Kieni forest, Gatundu North constituency. The body is now at the general Kago road funeral home.

The whereabouts of Brian Oduor, the fourth member of the group, is at the moment unclear.

The quartets vehicle, a white Toyota Mark X, was found abandoned at a parking lot about 500 metres from the club the following day and towed to the nearest police station as investigations continue.

Speculation about their business dealings continues to grow but police sources have refused to divulge any information on the day to day activies of the group.

Family members of the missing quartet refused to speak to Citizen TV.
