Bodies of two policemen found burnt in Baringo
The bodies of two police officers who were reported missing in action (MIA) on April 14, 2017 have been found in Ng’elecha Valley, Baringo South.
The officers, one drawn from the Anti-Stock Theft Unit (ASTU) and the other from the National Police Reservist went MIA after a fierce fight between Bandits and police during the Dumisha Amani Operation in the troubled area.
Confirming the incident on phone, Baringo County Police Coordinator Peter Ndung’u said the bodies were partially burnt following the fight.
He said the operation was halted as police officers were involved in the search for their missing colleagues.
Three officers sustained serious gunshot wounds last week in two separate incidents as police engaged bandits in a gunfight during the ongoing operation.
