Body of missing Narok teacher found dumped in a river

A teacher from Chemamit Primary School was on Sunday found dead five days after he was reported missing.

The body of the deceased; Daniel Terer, was found in a river in Olenguruone area with his clothes dumped elsewhere.

Trans Mara East Police Commander Fred Abuga said the preliminary investigations indicate that the teacher was murdered elsewhere and dumped in the river.

“We suspected that the matter is a murder case after his clothes were found inside a river in Litein(Kericho county) and his body dumped elsewhere,” said Abuga.

According to a police statement recorded by the school’s head teacher, the deceased was picked from the school compound by unknown in a saloon car on Wednesday July 17, 2019 during games time.

The school head noted said the matter was under investigation, noting that officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigation had visited the scene.

The body of the deceased was moved to a mortuary within Olenguruone.
