Body of 18 year-old student discovered in Bungoma market

Residents of Bungoma County were in shock this morning when they discovered the body of an 18 year-old Kisiwa Technical College student near Khachonge market.

The young man is said to have been on his way back from a funeral when he met his demise.

The deceased boy’s father, Nelson Wafula, said he had taken supper with him the previous night at their home in Nangili village. He was stunned the next morning when he was informed that his son’s body was discovered with stab wounds.

Locals suspect that the young man was murdered elsewhere, and that the assailants dumped his body near the market. The motive of the killing is yet to be determined.

Residents of Khachonge village have appealed for increased police patrols in the area and the entire Bungoma County to avert such killings.
