Body of three-year old who went missing last year retrieved
The skeleton of a three-year-old child who went missing in November last year in North East Sakwa location, Awendo in Migori County was Friday, May 12 retrieved from an abandoned gold mine.
The body was discovered by some villagers who were rescuing a dog that fell into the mine on Thursday night.
Area Chief, Mourice Osore, said that the villagers managed to pump out the water from the mine and retrieved the body.
He said that the father of the deceased had already identified the body and that they had informed the police who picked it up.
Mr. Osore added that it is suspected that the child had drowned in the gold mine, located a few metres from their home.
