Body suspected to be of missing lawyer, one other recovered in river

Two bodies believed to be those of the missing lawyer Willie Kimani and a taxi driver Joseph Muiruri have been found.

The bodies were found in Oldonyo Sabuk river in Kilimambogo. Police are currently searching the waters for the body of the third person who went missing with the other two.

The bodies are said to have been found at around 3PM on Thursday in gunny bags.

There are indications that the two were strangled to death. The bodies were found in two separate gunny bags. One of the deceased was light skinned and the other dark skinned.

One of the deceased was dressed in a checked shirt and khaki trousers while the other was dressed in jeans.

The bodies were removed to the City Mortuary awaiting identification and post morterm.

Meanwhile, a Nairobi Court has directed Inspector General Joseph Boinnet and Director of Criminal Investigations Ndegwa Muhoro to give out an interim report on investigations into disappearance of lawyer Willie Kimani and two others.

LSK moved to court Thursday seeking to compel government to produce the lawyer, his client Eric Mwenda and taxi driver Joseph Muiruri who went missing on June 23rd after appearing at Mavoko Law Courts.

Mwenda had filed a complaint with the Independent Policing Oversight Authority accusing an Administration Police officer of allegedly attempting to murder him.
