Boinett Appoints New County Commander, OCPD for Garissa
IG Joseph Boinett appointed Shadrack Maithya as the county commander and Nicholas Maina as the OCPD.
The appointment of the two officers comes less than 48 hours after the Cabinet secretary in charge of Interior Major (Rtd) Joseph Nkaissery interdicted nine top security officials in the area after the Garissa University mishap.
Nkaissery sent the Garissa regional coordinator, county commissioner, county commander and several other senior administration officials and senior police officers packing over their alleged failure to act on intelligence reports warning of an impending terror attack at the Garissa University College.
