At least three people were killed and several others wounded following air strikes on the Syrian town of Talbiseh on Tuesday (September 20), according to a monitoring group.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights also said warplanes had resumed bombing in the cities of al-Rastan and the village of western Farhanya, all in northern Homs province.

Videos uploaded to social media appeared to show the aftermath of air strikes, with large clouds of smoke rising from the area.

The footage also purported to show a parachute bomb hitting the town of Talbiseh.

According to the Syrian Observatory, the three killed in the air strikes were a man, a woman and a child.

It also said there were fierce clashes between government forces and Islamic State in eastern Homs.

The governor of Homs said late on Monday that a planned evacuation of several hundred Syrian rebels from their last foothold in the city would be postponed for several days because it was difficult to guarantee their safe passage.

Overnight the Syrian military declared a one-week truce brokered by the United States and Russia over, after an aid convoy was hit near Aleppo.
