Bondo MP Ochanda suspends CDF team over corruption claims

Bondo MP Gideon Ochanda has suspended his entire team at the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) over alleged massive corruption.

Ochanda further has directed that those implicated be barred from accessing the Bondo CDF office from Monday next week.

“They will instead be required to report to the CID offices at Bondo Police Station to be investigated over the corruption allegations,” he said.

According to Ochanda, the officials collided with other consistuency officials to influence the development projects in Bondo.

He further warned all those linked to them will  not be part of his team and once thorough investigations are complete, due legal process will be taken against them.

The MP who spoke at his rural home in Usigu Division, disclosed that he has received numerous complaints especially from contractors over corruption.

He alleged that those he dismissed were demanding for bribes for evading proper tendering procedures.

Ochanda further noted that some of them even registered companies and awarded tenders to themselves.

He also accused the CDF office of mishandling the Bursary Fund Scheme.

Names of potential beneficiaries of the CDF bursaries were apparently being altered and kick-backs demanded before handing out the papers.
