Boy, 11, unable to sit after ‘beating’ by teachers
The family of a 11-year-old pupil from Kibirigwi Primary School who was allegedly assaulted by three of his teachers for making noise in class is calling on the Ministry of Education to intervene and ensure justice is delivered
The family of Alvin Wahome Mwangi from Kibirigwi in Ndia, Kirinyaga County says that the minor was punished by the teachers and suffered serious injuries that have affected his walking and sitting down.
His mother, Elizabeth Muthoni, recorded a statement at Baricho Police Station where she even submitted photos showing the extent of the injuries.
The pupil stays with his grandmother since the parents work far from home.
The family want the Education Cabinet Secretary, Dr Fred Matiang’i, to intervene as they believe it is unjust to punish a student in such a manner.
