Boy attacked and injured by baboon in Nakuru

A ten-year-old boy was on Thursday attacked and injured by a baboon that attacked him at his home in Lake View estate, Nakuru town.

The boy’s mother Margaret Wangui, said her son was attacked and injured on his left leg while coming from a shop. The estate borders Lake Nakuru National Park.

The boy was however treated and discharged at Langalanga Sub County hospital.

This comes one day after the residents who live near the park held a consultative meeting with the Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS), Nakuru County Government representatives and national government representatives to express their concerns on the human wildlife conflict in the area.

They accused KWS of taking time before responding to distress calls from locals.

The residents said the baboons have been a nuisance since they damage their houses by sitting on roofs, eat their food and attack women and children.
