Boy Dies After ‘A Beating’ By Teacher

The boy was allegedly roughed up by his teacher for failing to perform well in his subject.

The family of the 10 year old boy says it is yet to come to terms with the death of their son who it claims was a social and a highly disciplined boy

The mother of the deceased Grace Muthoni says her son Joseph Waburi went to school on Monday 27th 2014 but started complaining of headaches, neck pains and back ache when he returned home

The mother says that he took her son to Nyagiti dispensary the following day and returned him once again a day after when the situation got worse.

The medics referred the boy to Murang’a Level 4 District hospital and called for an ambulance but unfortunately, the boy passed on.

She says that upon inquiries, she was told that her son was beaten by his teacher thus injuring his back and head

His body is at the Murang’a Level 4 District hospital morgue awaiting a post-mortem to establish the cause of the death.

The said teacher has allegedly gone underground after hearing of the death.

Kiuu primary school head teacher Joseph Mwenda expressed his heartfelt condolences for the demise of one of his students and at the same time denied claims that the boy died in school premises.

Mwenda said they await the post-mortem of the student to establish the actual cause of death.
