Britain key to European family Croatian PM

Croatian Prime Minister Tihomir on Monday (February 22) urged Britain to remain in the European Union in the in-out referendum due to be held in June.

He was in London attending a Western Balkans investment summit.

“Britain is a key piece of the European family and I think it would be detrimental to not only to Europe, but I think to Britain as well,” Tihomir said about a possible British exit of the EU.

“At the end of the day we are integrated in many parts and we share many connections, not just financial, commerce, cultural and obviously historical ties, I just think it would be a lose-lose and we need to look at win-wins at the end of the day,” he said.

As Prime Minister David Cameron tries to sell his case for Britain remaining in the union, he faces hostility from his own lawmakers and an exit campaign energised by the backing of London Mayor Boris Johnson.
