Broadcast PS Fatuma Hirsi fired
Fatuma Hirsi, Principal Secretary in the Information Ministry, has been sacked yet again.
In an executive order on Friday, President Uhuru Kenyatta said Hirsi will no longer serve in her capacity as Broadcast PS.
“In accordance with Article 155 of the Constitution, the appointment of MRS.FATUMA HIRSI, as a Principal Secretary has been vacated,” the President said.
This is the second time that Hirsi has been removed from her position as PS.
In June last year, she was sacked from the Tourism Ministry.
A letter from the then Head of Public Service Joseph Kinyua said: “Your employment contract has been terminated forthwith. You will be paid your salary up to June 30, which will be your last working day.”
However, three months later, she was appointed to replace Sammy Itemere as the PS in charge of Telecommunications and Broadcasting.
In the past, Hirsi has worked as a Corporate Affairs Manager at blue-chip companies such as Nation Media Group and Gulf African Bank among others.
