Brother of Uasin Gishu Governor Jackson Mandago found dead

The elder brother of Uasin Gishu Governor Jackson Mandago has been found dead in Eldoret.

A plumber discovered the body at Chepkanga area in the outskirts of Eldoret town.

He is said to have found the body at a hotel that is under construction.

President Uhuru Kenyatta on Wednesday sent a message of condolence to the family of Governor Mandago.

He further directed law enforcement authorities to stop the rising cases of killings being witnessed in the country.

“The rising cases of mysterious killings involving innocent Kenyans across the country are alarming,” he said in a statement.

President Kenyatta said rogue elements cannot be allowed to continue violating innocent Kenyans.

He said the recent wave of killings in Matungu and in other parts of the country are regrettable and asked police to bring the perpetrators to book.

Matungu MP Justus Murunga was on Saturday arrested over alleged connection with the recent killings that left 12 people dead.

Murunga becomes the fourth politician to be arrested over alleged links to the killings in Kakamega County.

A seven-year-old boy was murdered in cold blood by unknown assailants at Panyako village in Matungu.

The attackers are said to have raided the boy’s home at around 7pm while his parents had gone for prayers at a nearby mosque.

On Wednesday, three suspects connected to the brutal murder of six security guards in Kakamega were arrested in Nairobi.
