BRUTAL! Bullied teen suffers gallbladder injury

A Kiarithaini High School Form One student is nursing a gallbladder injury after he was reportedly attacked by three senior students from his school in Nyeri County.

Recounting the painful incident, the teen said the abuse took place on Wednesday evening after the seniors woke him up.

“It was Wednesday 10th 2017. I was woken up by two boys who asked my name, and I told them. I came out of my bed and asked them what they wanted. One of them held my neck and we collided. Other two boys beat me up on my stomach and private parts,” recalled the young man.

He goes on to say that he sustained serious injuries, but the school administration advised him not to speak to his parents about the brutal hazing.

“That morning I was unable to go for a short call. I reported the matter to the Deputy, but I was told not to report to my parents.  On seeing it was worsening, on Monday I called my dad from the telephone both as both teachers refused to let me place a call from their phones,” narrated the bullied boy.

The boy’s father, Solomon Kariuki says the school attempted to cover up the incident.

He complained that the school took too long to take the son to hospital, pointing out that though the attack took place on Sunday, the boy got medical attention on Saturday.

He further lamented that he was kept in the dark about the events that befell his son, adding that he was not even informed about the hospital visit.

The family has now asked Education CS Fred Matiang’i to intervene, saying that they have pulled their son out of the institution.

“We have the boy at home, we don’t have the school we can’t go back to Kiarithaini because of this bullying. The bullies are still there.   I would like our SC to deal with the culprits,” said Solomon.
