Bui Bui gang member arrested

Police in Mombasa have arrested a man alleged to be a member of a gang that has been terrorizing residents in the island while masquerading as women dressed in Bui Bui’s.

Jamal Ahmed Abubakar was arrested after police raided a house in Old Town estate, Mombasa.

Mombasa OCPD Robert Kitur said that after raiding the suspect’s house, they found three Bui Buis, three sartorial hijabs (Ninja) and an assortment of crude weapons.

Kitur added that police have started investigation to establish whether Jamal is amongst two men that raided a bank in Mombasa while dressed in Bui Buis late last month and whether he had any hand in the death of a senior National Intelligence Service (NIS) officer, Hashim Omar.

Hashim was killed on Thursday last week after he was allegedly confronted and shot five times by two gunmen  in the same Old town estate.
