Bungoma County announces plans to construct Ksh1.2b road

Bungoma County Governor Ken Lusaka has announced plans for the construction of a 40-kilometre road at a cost of Ksh1.2 billion.

The Misikhu Brigadier Road will be constructed in conjunction with the national government; with the County Government of Bungoma contributing Ksh600 million as the national government adds the deficit of Ksh600 million.

The road will connect Bungoma County with Trans Nzoia County in the North and Kakamega County in the south.

The governor said that the road would help the farmers transport their farm produce with ease, solving a perennial problem facing the farmers especially during the rainy season.

Urging the contractor to employ locals in refurbishing the road, Governor Lusaka advised the contractor to speed up the work and make sure that they do a quality job as the county government will want to see value for their money.
