Bungoma MCAs dismiss county board over gross misconduct

The Bungoma County Assembly on Thursday unanimously dismissed the County Public Service Board for alleged gross misconduct.

This follows a petition from a member of the public that sought to have the board members sacked. Moses Lukoe, the petitioner, had prayed for the CPSB to be sent home in his petition.

“The petitioner, Moses Lukoe, said that the service board was rotten and the right thing was to send them home for gross misconduct,” said MCA Majimbo Okumu from Khalaba Ward.

The County Assembly received a report on Thursday from the Committee on Public Administration before Mr. Okumu moved a motion for time to be allocated to scrutinise and debate the findings.

After deliberations, the speaker of the County Assembly asked the MCAs to vote by division, where those who supported the motion were to move to the right of the speaker with the dissenters moving left.

All the MCAs present moved to the right of the speaker, thus supporting the motion to send the CPSB members home.
