Bungoma Woman Rep Catherine Wambilianga injured in freak accident

Bungoma Woman Rep Catherine Wambilianga and six others were injured in a freak accident during the last day of campaigns for the Kabuchai parliamentary by-elections.

They were injured at the home of Majimbo Kalasinga (Ford Kenya aspirant) in Sikusi when a vehicle that was part of their entourage lost control and rammed into them as they were receiving Moses Wetangula (Ford Kenya party leader).

“The vehicle lost control and rammed into us. The driver wanted to engage the reverse gear but accidentally engaged front gear instead,” she said.

Mrs. Wamblianga sustained a broken limb and two fractures on her leg.

She underwent a successful surgery at Life Care Hospital in Bungoma town where she is currently recuperating.

The Woman Rep said she is in stable condition and will be discharged by Wednesday.

Mrs. Wambilianga assured her supporters that she is doing well adding that she will be visiting the other women who were injured during the incident once she is out of hospital.

She called on Kabuchai electorates to turn out in large numbers and vote for Majimbo Kalasinga on Thursday during the mini poll.
