Businessman pleads not guilty to NYS cash theft charges

Businessman Patrick Odhiambo Owino has pleaded not guilty to charges of conspiracy to steal over 24 million shillings from the National Youth Service (NYS).

It is alleged that he committed the offence on diverse dates between 27th of June and 7th of August 2015 at National Youth Service Engineering Institute in Nairobi .

The prosecution alleged that jointly, with others not before court, Owino conspired to steal over 24 million shillings, the property of the Government of Kenya.

Owino also pleaded not guilty to six other counts among them attempted stealing and forging documents. He was released on a cash bail of 1 million shillings.
